Hair Dyeing Experience

Image
Dear Diary Readers, I love my natural Dark Brown hair, but I enjoy switching it up sometimes with a new color. It can be a fun way to express yourself and boost your confidence. I've been coloring my hair since I was a teen.  I was 15 when I colored my hair for the first time. I bought Loreal Feria hair dye in the V38 (Intense Deep Violet) shade, but took it to a salon to get it professionally done. It came out stunning and, I went on to dye my hair purple 2 more times within a few years. Loreal is a great brand for permanent color, I've always had a good reaction to it. I stick with using the Feria line because I love their selection of vivid colors and, they last a long time with minimal fading. I'm going to dye my hair tomorrow, but I'll go red for the first time. I bought two boxes of Feria's R48 (Intense Deep Auburn) shade and, I'll head to the salon. I promise to share the results in next week's post. My message to anyone who is considering dyeing th

Life Goals: Renting or Buying a Home

Image
Dear Diary Readers, I have a few life goals, short-term and long-term for myself. One of them is to get my own place. I currently live with family and I do love it. However, learning to be alone in the real world is essential. To make it a reality, saving money will be critical.  There have to be steps broken down to save up the money. Paying rent or a mortgage is not the only expense to deal with. Having money saved up for utilities, water, heat, etc is crucial to survive. Additionally, location can be a big factor because large cities are more expensive compared to less populated cities. Although I love my hometown, I'm considering moving to a different CT town where living costs are lower.  Renting or buying a house has pros and cons. I go back and forth with this because I'm not sure how committed I want to be to one property. Renting is perfect because there's no ownership, you can sign for however long you want your lease to be, and it's easier to move when you

Good Eats at Red Lobster

Image
Dear Diary Readers, One of my favorite restaurant chains is Red Lobster. Whenever I have a seafood craving, I dine at their establishment. They have a wide variety of different seafood from lobster to trout. Red Lobster also serves some chicken and steak for all the meat lovers out there. You will never leave the restaurant hungry.  The best part of Red Lobster is its cheddar bay biscuits. They are golden brown, cheesy, and baked fresh. I always look forward to seeing the basket come around the table. For appetizers, we get fried calamari with marinara sauce. It's a good start to a filling meal. With entrees, I usually will get either some scallops in a skewer, steak, or shrimp scampi. A plate of Atlantic Salmon is also delicious. Their sides such as baked potato and fries are excellent choices to pair off.  When it comes to dessert, I like to eat either their Brownie Overboard sundae or Chocolate Wave cake. Next time you are looking for a seafood meal, go into Red Lobster. See y

Why I Love Traveling

Image
Dear Diary Readers, I love going traveling in my free time. It's one of my all-time favorite hobbies. I don't care if it's a weekend getaway or going away for a 1 week+ excursion. There is always a new city, state, or country to check out. Maybe some of you have bucket lists of where to visit before you die.  One of my reasons for loving traveling is that I try new things. Whether it's trying a new food cuisine or a different activity, it challenges you to get outside of your comfort zone. There's never time to play it safe, so you have to sometimes force yourself to step it up. A new experience like that will help you grow.  Another reason why traveling is amazing is that you can go with anyone you want. Some people like doing solo trips or going with a group of friends/family. I personally love to go with my mom and aunt, we make it a fun girls' trip. We're down for visiting museums, eating out at restaurants, and going sightseeing. We'll plan some a

TV/Movie Thoughts: Stranger Things

Image
Dear Diary Readers, I love the Stranger Things series. It's a well-made drama and horror Netflix series. This year, I chose to watch the rest of the seasons because I had only watched season 1 a few years ago. I binge-watched seasons 2,3, and 4 within a couple months. The characters are amazing and true badasses. They prove that they can get through whatever the Upside Down throws at them in Hawkins, Indiana.  Although there's no hate for either season, my personal favorites are seasons 3 and 4. I love the plotlines about the Russian/soviet unions and Vecna. Most of the characters are great, like Nancy, the journalist enthusiast who learned quickly how to use a gun and became the best shooter. The four boys, Lucas, Dustin, Mike,  and Will use their love for Dungeons and Dragons and science to solve mysteries. Eleven (a.k.a. Jane) is a powerful superwoman, who slays with her telekinesis. Robin is smart with knowing Russian and has a cool tomboy personality. Johnathan is talent
