Dyeing Hair Red: Results

 Dear Diary Readers,

I got my hair dyed red on 6/30 and it came out nice. I used Loreal Feria's Intense Deep Auburn (R48) shade. It was the right shade because I didn't want a red that would be too vibrant, but still visible enough for a new change. 

For anyone who has colored their hair, maintenance is important for the color's longevity. Red is one of the most complex shades to maintain, but I'm prepared for it. I bought Loreal's color-protecting shampoo and conditioner. When I'm showering, I will wash my hair under cool water, as cold as I can tolerate to get the hair cuticles to stay closed. This is what keeps your color locked in to stay vibrant. In a couple months, I plan to also retouch my color because I have an extra box of dye that was unused.
